Guided by the essential Quaker calling to seek out and honor that of God in each of us, Westtown School challenges its students to realize their individual gifts while learning and living together in a diverse community. Westtown inspires and prepares its graduates to be stewards and leaders of a better world.
When Westtown celebrated its Bicentennial in 1999, over five thousand were in attendance to mark the end of the school’s second century and the beginning of its third. As the oldest continuously operating co-educational boarding school in the nation, Westtown has grown with the times, yet continued to fulfill its original mission of providing a haven in which a child’s education and moral development are valued equally.
Academics
Westtown School is a Quaker, co-educational, day and boarding school founded in 1799. Located in Chester County, Pennsylvania, the school serves over eight hundred students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades. At Westtown, we believe a good education makes you think about four essential things: who I am…how I see the world…how I want to live…what I can give back. For over 200 years, we’ve encouraged young people to answer these questions as we inspire and prepare them to make real change for a better world.
