We develop the mind through our college preparatory curriculum and through a campus-wide ethos of curiosity and engagement in learning. We develop the body through sports and other physical activities, making full use of our spectacular natural setting. We develop the spirit through reflection, exploration of meaning and purpose, and service in the broader world. Students graduate with a solid college preparatory foundation and with a strong sense of themselves.
Today, our mountain setting inspires us to explore broadly, think deeply and to experience the fullness of life. In addition to the intellectual benefits, our students have the opportunity to explore and excel in unique outdoor sports offerings.
Academics
At WMS, students graduate with a firm academic grounding, habits for life-long learning, and an understanding of what it means to find and follow a passion. Performing and fine arts, outdoor education, sustainability, and community service (international and local) are integral parts of the school’s robust curriculum. White Mountain students learn to make a difference in the classroom, the community, and around the world.
Special Highlights
Field Courses. Our field courses are five-day experiences outside of the regular classroom setting that focus on a particular topic and that emphasize experiential learning. Field courses allow in-depth, hands-on learning unlike any you can find in a traditional classroom.
Weekend Activities. Students can also participate in an amazing diversity of recurrent or one-time activities offered throughout the year. These can be on-campus events like ultimate frisbee, bread baking in faculty kitchens, or all school dances. Students can also choose from a huge number of off-campus trips ranging from simple excursions to the movies or to get Thai food, all the way to weekend long trips to go whitewater rafting or to visit Montreal.
