Oldfields School is committed to the intellectual and moral development of young women. In a culture of kindness and mutual respect, we encourage each student to make the most of her academic and personal potential. We seek to guide each student to grow in character, confidence, and knowledge by encouraging her to embrace the values of personal honesty, intellectual curiosity, and social responsibility.
A 5:1 student to teacher ratio coupled with a talented and dedicated faculty allows for the mission of “Each Girl’s Success” to be fully executed each and every day. Oldfields’ distinctive academic schedule includes 3 classes per day with 1 hour in between each to allow for enrichment such as clubs, sports, or individual academic support. Intensive immersion into the subject matter is similar to a college experience. High academic standards combined with low pressure in a supportive environment results in confident, accomplished, well-rounded young women ready for the next phase of their education.
Academics
Oldfields has dedicated itself to the intellectual development of each student in line with her particular learning profile. The academic program is designed to be rigorous and challenging, as well as personal and supportive, allowing her to expand and apply her strengths while also developing strategies to manage her weaknesses. Oldfields offers a complete college preparatory curriculum.
Special Highlights
Community Service. Community service at Oldfields is encouraged, planned and performed by girls who are making a difference every day. Whether it is painting benches, tutoring a fellow student, working on an organic farm or helping to build houses in New Orleans, Oldfields girls demonstrate their largeness of heart daily.
Clubs & Groups. Clubs and organizations are voluntary and are organized and run by students with the support of a faculty advisor. Participation in activities not only increases the feeling of community but also offers each student various avenues in which she can explore new interests or express her talents.
