Founded in 1935, Dublin is an independent boarding and day school, serving grades 9 through 12. Dublin promotes self-reliance and self-confidence in a structured community. Students achieve success through strong academic, arts, and athletic programs. We respect the individual learning style and unique potential each student brings to Dublin. With our guidance, Dublin students become men and women who seek truth and act with courage. Dublin School is surrounded by miles of woods, pristine deep-water lakes, abundant wildlife, and Mt. Monadnock, one of the most climbed mountains in the world. This hidden corner of Southern New Hampshire is an easy drive to the cities of Boston and NYC. Dublin is one of the highest altitude villages in NH. Long a summer retreat and artist colony, Dublin and its surrounding area is home to many writers and artists.
Academics
Academics at Dublin School are engaging, relevant, and rigorous. Academic work here aims to prepare students for college, and for the journey of building rich and positive lives. Our academic program grows from the legacy of Paul Lehmann, and his emphasis on hard work and high standards, and the values of progressive education. Students leave Dublin School as strong individuals who are ready to participate in the globalizing society of the 21st century.
Special Highlights
The Walden School. In residence on the campus of the Dublin School, Walden is an acclaimed summer music school and festival offering programs that emphasize creative application, specifically through the study of musicianship, improvisation, and composition. The school provides an inspiring retreat-like environment ideal for creative music making.
Maple Sugaring. For the past three years, dedicated students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends have joined forces to tap nearly 800 trees and collect the thousands of gallons of sap that flow each spring. Students have an opportunity to broaden their education through hands-on learning, blending old world science with modern technology to yield a famously delicious sweet treat. This experience also instills the meaningful value of hard work.
