Dartmouth College

Dartmouth College is a private Ivy League research university in Hanover, New Hampshire. Established in 1769, it is one of the nine colonial colleges chartered before the American Revolution. In addition to the undergraduate faculty of arts and sciences, Dartmouth has four professional and graduate schools: Geisel School of Medicine, Thayer School of Engineering, Tuck School of Business, and Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies. Dartmouth is situated in the rural town of Hanover, located in the Upper Valley along the Connecticut River in New England. Its 269-acre campus is centered on a 5-acre “Green,” a former field of pine trees. Most of Dartmouth’s buildings are designed in the Georgian colonial architecture style.
