Special Highlights

This center provides free mentorship with integrative learning opportunities, resources to help students scale their business, and connections to the greater Irvine entrepreneurial network.

Middle Earth Towers. The grand entrance that leads to UCI’s new Middle Earth Towers can seem intimidating to students at first. On a concrete ledge next to the staircase is an inscription that reads: “Speak friend and enter.” The riddle is from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. It’s also a key word in UCI’s Middle Earth community. The futuristic five-story high structures are inspired by Tolkien’s fictional mythological past. The new housing expansion added 500 new beds, and residents will have many opportunities to make friends and enjoy such amenities as a dining hall, a multipurpose room, a study pavilion, and a fitness and recreation center.
