Life in the Yard. Life in the Yard provides several opportunities for first-years to interact with peers, upper-class students, faculty, and university staff. First-Year Intramurals offer a chance for students to bond with other freshmen, learn a new sport, and compete to win the Yard Trophy. The First Year FUNd program provides an opportunity to plan social or cultural events. Through specially designed First-Year Experience programs, students learn about college personal development. Each term, students may invite a faculty member to the traditional First-Year Faculty Dinner.

Harvard’s extensive library system houses the oldest collection in the U.S. and the largest private collection in the world.
