Babson College is a private institution that was founded in 1919. Located in suburban Wellesley, Massachusetts, this close-knit New England school is known as one of the nation’s top ranked small business colleges. Babson’s 370-acre campus is alive with intellectual, cultural, athletic, and social activities. 28% of undergraduates are international students. Academics
Babson offers a strong business curriculum with a liberal arts foundation. Students benefit from taking at least half their courses in the liberal arts to ensure a balanced education that integrates liberal arts and management. The transformative experience of the first year is the award-winning Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship, a year-long course in which students create, start, and operate their own business or organization. The student-faculty ratio at Babson is 11:1. Popular majors include Economics, Entrepreneurship Studies, Finance, Management Sciences & Quantitative Methods, and Marketing Management.

Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership. At the Center we are closing the gender gap in business, one female leader at a time. We educate and empower women to create social and economic impact through industry and innovation as we enlighten the global community about the importance of female leadership for prosperity and progress. The Diana Project™ engages in research activities, forums and scholarship focusing on women entrepreneurs and their growth.
Weissman Foundry. The Weissman Foundry at Babson College is a cutting-edge studio dedicated to fostering creative and collaborative projects led by a community of Babson, Olin, and Wellesley college students. The Foundry’s intentional mashup of student disciplines and interests ignites forward-thinking idea exploration, iteration, and design and facilitates meaningful knowledge transfer between its community members.
School Mission & Unique Qualities
Nearly half of all students choose to take a semester abroad, elective abroad, or school break service trip. Babson offers 104 education abroad opportunities in 38 countries, including the BRIC program which takes students to Brazil, Russia, India, and China as a cohort. In addition, students can spend a semester experiencing startups in Silicon Valley while they study at Babson’s San Francisco campus. Elective abroad programs are short-term courses led by Babson faculty that combine on-campus classroom instruction with company site visits, cultural excursions, and hands-on experiences around the world.
