The Pennington School is an independent coeducational school for students in grades 6 through 12, in both day and boarding programs, with a current enrollment of 485 students. The curriculum is college preparatory, with an emphasis on fostering the development of the whole student through academics, athletics, community service, and the creative and performing arts. Within the curriculum there are also small programs for international students and for students with learning differences. Founded in 1838, Pennington values both tradition and innovation, applying the values gleaned from centuries of learning, along with the most up-to-date knowledge to a rapidly changing world.

Our Students fully engage in the Pennington experience. They seek personal excellence and aspire to lives of dedication, perseverance, resilience, integrity, and service. Our Faculty members unreservedly commit themselves to our students and their optimal learning and understanding. Passionate about their professional discipline, they are dedicated to staying current with best practices and pursuing professional development. Our faculty members serve as mentors and role models, forming meaningful relationships with students both inside and outside the classroom.

 Academics

Teachers set high expectations for their students, and students work hard to excel. Because of this, students are able to think critically, write clearly, and argue a point persuasively. They are able to see the world beyond the prism of the American perspective. They appreciate the value of art and music, as well as science and technology in elevating the human condition. Through their academic pursuits at Pennington, our students develop a passion for learning, an understanding of themselves, and the confidence to make a difference.
