At Westover, girls find their passions, their friends, and their futures through our dynamic and diverse community.

Westover is something rare and unexpected: a rigorous school with a very big heart and soul. We are a community of learners who think passionately about big ideas, care intensely about each other, and weigh seriously our responsibility to the wider world. At Westover, you will encounter girls from every background you can imagine and find you have profound things in common. You will make close friends who will continually surprise you with the freshness and confidence of their ideas. And your friendships will include faculty members who will prepare you for college and who teach classes so fascinating, you might think you’re already there.

 Academics

Special programs of note: WISE: Women in Science and Engineering, a co-curricular program with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; OSG: Online School for Girls, expands Westover’s curriculum while offering students an all girls’ online learning environment experience; Collaborative music program and scholarship with MSM, the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Division; IIG: Investing in Girls, a pilot program in Economics in conjunction with Silver Bridge of Boston, MA; Westover is also host to the world renowned Bolshoi Ballet’s Summer Intensive.

 Special Highlights

Student Life. Westover has its own history of Art History: it’s been part of our curriculum since 1913, four years after Westover opened in 1909. Every student at Westover studies Art History for at least one trimester—not a typical requirement in high school. We offer elective art history courses like “Italian Renaissance Art” or “Women in the Arts,” as well as Humanities courses.

Clubs, Committees & Groups. Part of what brings Westover students and faculty together as a close-knit community are our many common interests expressed through an uncommon number of fascinating clubs. All are 100% student run and all are advised by a faculty member. New clubs pop up all the time. As a student here, feel free to start one we don’t already have!
