The Perkiomen School is located in Greater Philadelphia. Within walking distance of campus 50 shops, restaurants, banks, and salons are available for students. The Lehigh Valley is to the north (Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton), Philadelphia is 49 miles to our south, and New York City is only 104 miles east. Perkiomen is convenient to some of the nation’s finest cultural and educational institutions, great shopping and entertainment, and beautiful countryside with skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, and much more.

At Perkiomen “students are inspired to risk being their best.” Our mission is carried out through a residential program that instills the importance of being a valuable member of a close-knit community, an academic program that provides access to 28 AP courses, The Learning Center, supportive study halls and conference periods, and an after school program that encourages students to try something new—from our nationally recognized baseball program, to “varsity” art, to theater and music, and Model United Nations.

At Perkiomen, our motto: Solvitur Vivendo (Learning through experience) guides us as we inspire students. Whether Model U.N. students competing at U. Penn., band members performing off-campus, or students interacting with the “Burgermeister” in Hildesheim, Germany, active learning is a hallmark of a Perkiomen education.

 Academics

Our curriculum challenges students to become inquisitive and independent learners. We provide opportunities for intellectual and creative exploration within a diverse and trusting faculty and student environment. Perkiomen seeks to foster self-confidence, respect, and integrity in our students so that they may become responsible citizens in the local and international community.

 Special Highlights

Athletics & Activities. All upper school students are required to participate in an after school activity each term. At least one term must be an athletic commitment. Middle school students participate in a sport activity each of the three terms (boys’ soccer, girls’ field hockey in the fall, boys’ and girls’ basketball in the winter, boys’ and girls’ lacrosse in the spring). Perkiomen features more than 20 sports teams.

Community Service Learning. An important component of each Upper School student’s education is accomplished through the fulfillment of the Community Service Learning requirements. This aspect of Perkiomen’s program provides opportunities beyond the traditional, academic classroom experience. Each student is required to complete six hours of community service each year.
