Since 1967, South Lancaster Academy has been a twelve-grade school. Preschool, Prekindergarten, and Kindergarten were added to the program in subsequent years. The academy attempts to maintain the historic ideals of Seventh-day Adventists on matters of morals, dress, and conduct, as its reasons for existence. SLA’s students come from many different ethnicities, faiths, and backgrounds. We encourage and promote a safe environment for our students to grow and know one another as brothers and sisters.

Academics

Enrolled grade 9-12 students receive a school email and access to Google’s office productivity suite. Assignments are submitted for grading via Google Classroom and our Moodle platform. Students are issued a Chromebook containing all their textbooks and related materials. Elementary students use classroom Chromebooks to supplement their lessons. With three distinct diploma designations, students can find the high school experience tailored to what fits their future occupational interests and college goals. Choose from a general elective-based track, a college preparatory, or an honors diploma.

Special Highlights

National Honor Society. South Lancaster Academy’s National Honor Society chapter was founded in 1987 and actively promotes the cultivation of student leaders on our campus. In addition to guiding our student organizations and setting a high example academically for other students, NHS members promote regular charity drives and initiatives throughout the year to promote service to their fellow human. Approximately 20% of the school’s student body are enrolled in NHS, meeting the rigorous standards set by the national organizational body.

Music Department. Beginning in Kindergarten, our music program offers a comprehensive growth structure. Elementary students learn different instruments as they grow and perform in class choirs. After school lessons from Thayer Conservatory tutors are available onsite. In high school we offer orchestra, choir, hand bells and our renowned traveling choir, Il Voce.
